About Me

With the amount of requests I get from individuals looking to start a new Video Game LAN Center I decided to put some of my experiences down on paper.  Not only start-ups but existing centers who are looking to take their store to the next level or perhaps those looking for ways to just keep their heads above water.

My background is very diverse with a history in athletics at the collegiate level, a BSME from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and the founding of many companies leading up to my present job in the video game center field.  I founded eBash Video Game Center in 2004 so I have been doing this for a LONG time by this industry’s standards.

DO I HAVE TO HAVE A LICENCE FOR THE BUSINESS TO ALLOW CUSTOMERS TO PAY TO PLAY IN USE OF THE XBOX 360’S?

  2. I would think you would want a license, but of course you can not have one in place and just hope it is alright. You can join an organization like iGames (www.lancenters.com) to obtain licenses with the major companies.

    • After building our store in Indianapolis this year, we are primarily going to focus on large markets first. We want to spread out around the country in larger markets like perhaps Philadelphia, Atlanta, Dallas, etc. We want to be within driving distance for the largest number of tournament players.

  3. That’s what I thought you were going to say. And that makes perfect sense. But I was wondering because I am interested in getting involved with ebash (or the similar), especially if you were going to be closer to where I am.

  4. I am planing to open a Game Center in New York that is a family entertainment center and for heavy gamers that has video arcade games as well as all consoles game booth. So I’m looking for any tips and suggestions. Thank you.

    • Hey Bobby! I do consulting on a regular basis for new centers getting started. It is not expensive at all and I take 3 hours to tell you anything you would like to know about our experiences. If you are interested send me an email and we can set-up a time to talk more about it!

  5. Hi Zack, I am planning to open a game center in Mobile, AL. We have a population of about 200k. I have the retail space already secured but have a wealth of concerns and questions. I’ve already done a ton of research into your store as well as a multitude of other stores worldwide. I would love to talk to you sometime about your experiences and hopefully get some of my questions out of the way. The consulting you offer seems like it can be very helpful to me. Anyways, I’ve sent you an email and a facebook message, so looking forward to hear back from you!

    Best,

    Varin

    • Hey Warren! Just shoot me an email and I can touch base with you on some options. Either consulting is fine, or we are actually looking at starting up franchising this year (2017) for eBash so that might work really well especially if you are in the Midwest near us!

  9. Hey Justin! No problem, we do tons of consulting for centers that are starting up. Shoot me an email. I don’t type it in here to keep it from getting spam from bots. But it is just my name @ebash.com or @ggcircuit.com
